Kickin' It
Yesterday, March 19th, hit the 5 month mark...my how times flies. Speaking to flying, I was on a plane back from Ft. Lauderdale and felt the baby kick from outside for the first time! Not sure if Baby B was pissed about being in the same spot for hours, but he/she gave quite the punch. I've been feeling flutterings for a few weeks now, but this was the first time I could feel it with my hand on my stomach. Soon enough Joe will be nearby to feel as well...very exciting!

Baby Size - Banana
Note: Not sure how a banana is bigger than a cantaloupe, but that's what "they" say...

12 Weeks Ultrasound
I was had some spotting in January around 12 weeks so the doctor told me to come in to have it checked out. Turned out there was a minor complication but did not affect the baby and eventually went away. Luckily from this "extra" appointment I had another ultrasound and was able to see Baby B once again moving around :) Here are a couple of the best shots!

8 Weeks Ultra Sound
We went in for the first doctors appointment at 8 weeks to make sure baby was still kickin'. It was our first experience with an ultrasound...SO COOL. Baby really looks more like a slug than human, but it was very surreal to see little arms moving. Here are a couple pics from that day.
Back in Time
I've decided to add all the pictures we have so far including ultrasound photos and month-by-month and week-by-week shots of the growing belly.
Here is how it all started!
So, story goes... Joe and I were meeting friends for drinks at The Herkimer. I had been feeling off for a few days and thought....hmmm, maybe? But, we went out anyways. I ordered a drink, but half way through decided I should probably find out for sure before consuming more alcohol...better safe than sorry. I decided to leave the bar when Joe and his buddies wanted to go on to the next bar.
At this point it was 10:30pm on a Saturday night. I decided I couldn't wait any longer to find out so went to the nearest CVS. Of course, they were closed so had to truck on to the Lunds where I found the pregnancy test. I went home, took the test and sure enough the two pink lines show up instantly. I called Joe as we discussed before leaving the bar. I had a feeling I was preggo but it was finally confirmed! Joe ended up walking home from the bar due to his excitement (and the fact that is was snowing and the cabs were really slow that night). We stayed up late into the night talking about the news and how to proceed.
The next morning I took another test just to be sure, and of course it came back with two pink lines...Official, we were pregnant! All this happened right before Thanksgiving and I was off to Arizona to visit Grandpa. Luckily the break from the family gave Joe and I a chance to digest the news and figure out a game plan on when to tell everyone. Grandpa was the first to know, and we told our families the following week. Exciting!
